A teacher of enlightenment, Leslie Temple-Thurston was born and raised in South Africa. She graduated from the University of Witswatersrand in Johannesburg with a degree in fine arts and worked professionally as a painter and art teacher, exhibiting her paintings while in her twenties. Her art was the expression of a natural mystical inclination she had had since childhood.

With a gift of clairaudience, she was urged by her inner guidance during the height of apartheid in the mid-1970s to emigrate to the United States with her family, including her two young children. There, she deepened her studies of mysticism and ancient wisdom through meditation, yogic teachings and spiritual psychology.

In the late 1980s after many years of an amazing inner journey, practicing meditation and self-inquiry, Leslie experienced a complete dissolution of her old identity and a profound spiritual transformation and awakening. With this came the gift of being able to share with others a transmission of grace, unconditional love and healing energy, known in the East as shakti. Given through her gaze, her hands and her voice, the transmission has uplifting, transformational and enduring healing effects.

Through the non-profit organization, CoreLight, Leslie currently works closely with spiritual seekers worldwide who are committed to transformation and egoic clearing. She is a spiritual mentor and speaker of truth, helping people to become conscious of the luminous core of enlightenment that is within each one of us. She devotes her time to offering events to the public, working with her Teacher Training group and doing humanitarian service work in South Africa, especially with AIDS orphans and the AIDS pandemic there.

On this website you can find examples of Leslie's writings and her teachings, including audio clips of her talks, several articles and excerpts from her book, The Marriage of Spirit—Enlightened Living in Today's World.
