Most people can feel something extraordinary is coming in our world. With each new day, it feels as though time is accelerating exponentially and we are rushing headlong into an uncertain future. What is this phenomenon? Are we plunging into destruction and disaster, or are we poised for rebirth and renewal, ready to enter a new, golden age of enlightenment?
Despite some positive signs, everywhere we turn we seem to be bombarded by bad news: wars, pandemics, ecological disasters, pollution, environmental destruction, extinction of species, climate change, economic failure, energy crises, unsustainable reliance on fossil fuels, and the extraordinary greed and corruption of governments, corporations and individuals worldwide. Even with these incentives to change and even with our best intentions, we still have trouble changing—because of our limited, polarized mindset.
As spiritual seekers, how do we cope with all of this uncertainty, negativity and potential gloom and doom, which certainly does seem like it is the reality of our modern world? Some days it feels easiest just to ignore it all. But is that really a solution?
- keeping our spiritual path at the heart of daily life,
- staying informed about what is happening in the world,
- recognizing that in addition to the death of the old, outmoded systems, exciting and inspiring signs of the birth of a new, love‐based paradigm are becoming more and more evident, and
- exploring “Sacred Activism”, which author Andrew Harvey describes as the fusion of sacred consciousness, passion, generosity and peace with wise action.
These are all vitally important issues to give our attention to as spiritual seekers. With information comes empowerment. With a shift in mindset comes awakening. And from this comes love in action, change and the birth of a new world.
In this course we read books, watch films and listen to the audio recordings of talks from the live class, all of which focus primarily on the topics of: economy, environment and energy. We view these topics through the lens of personal transformation and spiritual growth, and we discuss our research and insights via regular phone‐bridge and Internet dialogues with a CoreLight teacher and/or Brad Laughlin and other class members. We especially concentrate on the subject of money—on our personal relationship with money, on clearing the shadows around money, on the history and future of our financial system, and on how we can each contribute to the birthing of a new love‐based paradigm right now in the present.
Although everyone is at a different level of understanding of these subjects and comes to the course with varying degrees of knowledge, the discussions are intended for anyone, at any level, based on the premise that we can all contribute and learn from each other.
