Los Alamos, New Mexico and Sacred Tribal Lands, with Marian Naranjo

October 19th, 2014

LANL (Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory), birthplace of the atomic bomb and linchpin of the nuclear weapons industry, is built on a dormant super volcano and has been threatened in recent years by raging wildfires. Marian Naranjo, Founder and Director of Honor Our Pueblo Existence (HOPE), speaks about this untenable situation and how her tribe, who have lived on this land for millennia, have been disconnected from many of their sacred places.

The Buwah Tewha (Bread House) is a project to renew harmony within the indigenous communities that have been deeply affected by the creation of the atomic bomb and the national laboratories, which continue to occupy their sacred lands.

Please donate to “HOPE” to help complete the Buwah Tewha, as a place for women and girls to gather, learn and share traditional knowledge and important tribal lifeways.

Exploring New Consciousness

February 7th, 2013

Leslie Temple-Thurston, a teacher of enlightenment, shares an inspirational message about the new consciousness that is birthing on the planet. This new paradigm is about unity consciousness and awakening the heart; it is about no more separation and about feeling connected to each other, nature and all things. How do we access this new consciousness and how can we use it in our lives? It’s a beautiful opportunity to grow.

Creating Something out of “Nothing”

January 28th, 2013

Right now humanity is literally “floating” in something I would call a “creative void.” This moment in time, the aftermath of the 2012 doorway, is a deeply creative time, but it also appears to be something of a void-ness right now for most people. This is because, for developed seekers, much of the old consciousness of the third dimension has disappeared and the new consciousness has not yet revealed itself to us. We may get faint intimations of it, but it is not altogether clear—certainly not clear enough to build a new life on as yet. And yet I am sure that each of you is already wanting now to define your new reality as much as possible. So the question that arises in us is: “Can I move forward and plug into a new level of consciousness for myself?” The answer, however, is not a simple one, and it is worth looking at whatever answers you may have gleaned so far, from a very abstract place inside yourself before you lock anything into place.

changes next exit signWhile there is definitely a new kind of consciousness approaching us from “out there in the Cosmos,” so far it is eluding our old ability to define and see its presence clearly or grasp its presence fully formed. It remains more of an essence, very fluid and as yet, mostly un-seeable and ungraspable. One cannot know what it is, clearly. It is not a complete and formed “plug-in” so to speak.

I have to say I feel that the most perfect thing we can all do now is to allow ourselves to simply float in the void for awhile longer. I know that the ego tries to lock down the definitions of things so that it can feel it’s on solid ground. But that is the ego’s issue. And you are not the ego. Therefore it is most certainly viable for you to allow the emptiness and the void-ness in and around you, to slowly solidify into the new forms that are yet to come.

The ego hasn’t yet realized that if it can’t see into the void, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing there. Emptiness is never really empty; it’s the ego’s perception that it is devoid of content. Rather, ask your deeper self what you can do with this void that’s present that would allow it to give way to a creative state of “just being” and “just allowing” yourself to be content with the emptiness—that is, until it begins to reveal its hidden forms! During times of uncertainty, most people tend to give way to fear—which is the ego’s fear of emptiness. Yet it is quite viable to turn shadow-void into creative-void!

Being creative in the void means that you play—

  • Play with your insight!
  • Jot down your most outrageous ideas but don’t solidify them.
  • Allow yourself to be still and dream into the new Presence—either in meditation or just gazing out on the landscape of your life.
  • Go out of your way to find beauty and explore your own ideas of what beauty is. It is always different for each person.
  • As you begin to assemble your feelings of what is beautiful, what is uplifting to you, what is inspirational and what would be fun for your new life to be, you are beginning to find your new self.
  • But don’t lock anything in yet!!! Ooooh no! Play some more, dream, meditate and flow with time itself as though it is an ancient and wise river—because it is!!

play and creativityPlay, because play is infinitely creative, and in combination with dreaming, it is the new foundation on which your new perception of reality and life will be birthed.

If you tend to fall into fear and grab at whatever makes itself available in the short term, process the fear. There is no such thing as voidness, no matter how it may look to your ego!! Everything is always full, and fullness is everything. There is nothing but fullness in existence. There is no such thing as emptiness. It is only the 3D ego perception that there can be empty space—it does not actually exist. If you are having difficulty getting your bearings, try to let go of the belief in the empty-full polarity, process it—it is just a polarity in the realm of ego. Then you’ll certainly find the capacity in your awareness to see into the unseen and find peace in the emptiness. Conjuring something out of what seems to be nothing, is certainly the blessed work of making the Divine’s gifts conscious.

Collaboration Between Women Supports Global Change

October 27th, 2012

We have reached the moment in time when as many women as possible need to be made aware of the way in which they compete with other women. This phenomenon is hugely present in almost every woman in the Western world, just as it is with men. Competitiveness in women is usually fairly covert, disguised, taken for granted. Competition is so second nature that even the woman herself is unconscious of the fact that she is doing it! Yet, if a woman is sensitive and has good inter-personal skills and cares about her relationships with others, she can usually feel the tonality of that particular energy—and respond to it, especially if someone draws her attention to it and makes her aware of it. This indicates that many women are ready to shift this issue now….

The women of today not only compete over men, but to some extent compete in the same manner as men, now that they have entered the Patriarchal working world where it is survival of the fittest in the job market. Either way, the situation is still about women trying to survive and make their way in life, although essentially without the same privileges as men. Despite the fact that feminism has come a long way in the past 50 years, this pattern of women being second-class citizens is still significantly in place.

Leap of Faith sculpture, Colin Gateway, BelfastThis world absolutely cannot heal as long as there is competition between men, or between women, or between men and women. Our now blighted natural world is gasping for air, essentially as a result of the competition for survival between people, nations, the genders, and the effect of human competition on nature and animals. It has got to stop soon—and our Mother Earth is now asking us women to let it go. Actually on closer examination, competition, which was so esteemed, now seems most embarrassingly sordid, small-minded, limited and redundant. Now, since we no longer need to be using this behavior for our survival, we can be reborn into a new and far healthier way of sisterhood that calls for collaboration and caring!

I doubt we were meant to be competing with each other forever—it was a learning experience for sure, but as we ascend, it no longer serves us. Going forward into the new paradigm of heart-centered consciousness will inevitably change this destructive attitude for our own happiness and survival.

The fact is that women no longer need to be dependent on men, and have no real reason to compete with each other. It is simply an old habit, as most of us know only too well in our souls. There are so many ways that this Patriarchal period has been exceedingly hard for women that, overall, it has been a deeply scarring and soul-destroying experience. Yet there is another, subtler and higher side to our feminine evolution. Over the millennia we have also learned something from facing the humiliation we feel about being “less than” men. While this humiliation still lives deep inside us, we have been subtly changed. We have learned and are still learning that having to face humiliation over the centuries has led us towards awakening the sublime and higher state of true humility within us. It has developed in us a huge well of strength deep within our souls, and as a result we have become survivors—and more. We have become capable of ascending into a higher dimension. We are ready!

Understanding Betrayal

September 6th, 2012

When we were born, we had our universal perceiver intact. This universal perceiver is the one who knows truth. This perceiver encounters a very controlling and domineering world. There are many, many ways to be dominated. You can be dominated with cruelty and with kindness, which is something we do not often realize. Forgive the Betrayals

Most parents assume that a baby is a pretty stupid lump of flesh, although, this is not quite as prevalent today as it was a few decades ago. And so, the baby comes up against dominance and control. It may not be overt dominance from day one, but it certainly is control. The little child is told day in and day out that it does not know anything, or at least that assumption is just made. Most parents also assume that the baby must be taught everything about the world—how to think, how to see, how to perceive! The honoring of the perceiver in the baby does not happen very often. Sure, the baby has poor motor skills, but everything else is intact in a latent form. Most parents no longer have an understanding of the true perceiver in themselves since the way of this world is that the true perceiver gives over to the false perceiver.

How do you react when someone tries to dominate, manipulate, or control you? Think about it for
a moment.

From early childhood, we develop a variety of reactions, and these become roles that we play—personas.
If someone tries to dominate, manipulate, and control us, we begin putting up guards. The rebel is one of the
personas that may develop. The victim is another. The rebel is the one who bucks authority and feels powerful, and the victim is the one who submits to authority and feels powerless.

The way that the world impacts a baby is that the baby’s true perceiver is not seen, heard, understood, or validated, but it does get validation for its responses to everybody else’s programmed blindness. If it begins to react to what it sees outside, there will be a response from the “world outside.” It will connect to the baby, allowing the baby to connect to it. “Oh, look. Little Johnny’s developing a personality! Isn’t that cute.” Sometimes this may be a negative kind of connection, but not always. Often it is positive. In the end all that matters is that the baby will feel connected. And so the coating of the personality comes into place, and the true perceiver is discounted.

Under parental authority the dualistic personas, whether the dominant, rebellious, and assertive one or the passive, submissive, victimized one, begin to be instituted in the baby. As far as the world is concerned, the baby is beginning to develop a personality.

In the course of this childhood development, the original perceiver seems to become hidden by the developing personality. This is the coating of the core by the shadow of the egoic veils. Yet the good news is that it is not completely lost. It is just disguised. Despite the fact that the life force and the awareness of eternity get clouded over, the perceiver is still there fortunately, still looking through those eyes—eyes that have become clouded by the programmed concepts around life.

So, in its pure form, unadulterated by the attributes of the developing personality, that perceiver, which we call “I,” a word we use dozens of times a day, is still the universal perceiver—the Self. The small “i” is really the eternal I. Ultimately there is no difference.

The perceiver, disguised by the veil of the personality, is connected all the way to the core, the Self within you, pure non-dual consciousness. Even when the perceiver is pretending to be the personality, it looks straight out from the core place—straight out through your own eyes.

There are ways to get back into it, ways to get through the cloudiness of the worldly persona. There are doorways through the centers of each of the chakras, especially through to the center of the heart chakra, where a deeper, unified truth can be perceived—something we respond to like lungs gasping for a first breath of fresh air.

By using the seven keys to open the locks between the chakras, the chakras themselves also open to a deeper level, and we have our first taste of our universal birthright. Eventually all of the locks are open, giving us our realization of the core and our unified state. The perception of truth opens all the way through the body and can then manifest in our daily life.

A Power of One Unfolding

July 22nd, 2012

We received a touching example of how we effect each others lives and how the Power of One can make a difference in our world. We are sharing the following letter written by an award winning World Pulse journalist and DR Congo activist who was recently part of the Earth Treasure Vase Global Earth Healing Project.

Neema’s Reflections

Dearest Cynthia and Raji, having experienced the passing of a few months since your visit, I want to share with you some lasting impressions that I myself have experienced, and am witnessing in and from others.

It’s sometimes difficult to register the entirety of impact from what you immediately recognize as a significant event. There are usually ripple or secondary affects, and in some cases those affects can register more powerfully than the event itself, ie. the tsunamis in Indonesia and Japan that were the result of the earth’s quaking miles away. And while I’m using a negative example, I mean for it to be understood in the most positive light. For it does indeed seem that your visit to East Congo caused a critical disturbance in the genetic coding of a scheme that had run so long and had taken us so far in its intention, that our self-destruction was not only certain, it was imminent. We saw it as corruption fostered by greed and lusts for power and position governing back behind every thought and action. Neema holding and comtemplating the EarthAs a giant meteor entering earth’s atmosphere would gain momentum when nature’s gravity takes over, with a force more powerful than any man made weapon could be engineered to prevent it, so we were on a course to destroy not only ourselves, but inevitably, a good chunk of the earth as well.

And I think that’s the critical element. You entered our orbit with no contrivance to your program. We knew you were coming with a Peace Agenda. We knew you were desperate in heart to somehow effect an end to the violence and destruction in Congo; to its land and its people. But your agenda almost seemed to have no agenda. There was no campaign launched; no “7 steps to peace” announced; no slogans subliminally introduced. No, every move, every situation, every encounter and interaction was allowed to develop; every next-step allowed to present itself. So what was effecting? What was operating, motivating, encouraging, nurturing, and leading us? It was a spirit so compelling, so inviting, so embracing, so inclusive, so intentional, and so undeniably present and in demonstration, so unassuming and yet strangely powerful – we felt it as LOVE.

But what kind of tactic is that? You left without giving us a plan. No strategy was laid out. In fact, the enemy wasn’t even identified. Or was it?

The whole of our upbringing, our culture, our religion, our education, has taught us that “they” are the enemy. But after you left we noticed that something was seeded within us. A new perspective was dawning, and it was illuminating something foreign to us. We have begun to see that the evil set against us was not some man, or government, or system, and therefore no contrivance of man could overcome it. Our enemy had been our ignorance. How gullible we have been. How easily snared we were. Our fathers fell for a lie that we in turn perpetuated. The enemy was our own understanding, and more than that; our unwillingness to understand. It was easier to believe that “they” were the enemy. But Love told the Truth.

But how did you do it? What was your method? We didn’t recognize your program. But then the dawn began to reveal that you were only a carrier; you were only its instrument. The force was unseen. And in the seed was a consciousness that held all the answers.

We continue to be hit with these waves washing over us. If there is any destruction, it is only that which was destroying us from the inside out. But all of that is happening almost without notice. For our attention has been drawn to a mind that is clear, brightened with an understanding that is forgiving, patient, willing, sympathetic, intentionally caring, and intrinsically loving.

While you were here we spoke over and over of the New Congo we intended. We had no idea that we already possessed it. All we had to do was open our hearts and receive it.

You affirmed many times that although you were the ones standing before us, there were many with you, and therefore with us. And so you brought gifts and contributed your talents, imparting new media skills and leaving us equipment to help tell the developing story. And now thankfully, that story will be presented in a new light, as we are all looking through a new lens.

How can we thank you Cynthia and Raji? I think your example has shown us all we can do is what you did for us; become Love’s carrier.

Truly Yours,
Neema

The Power of One Effect

July 16th, 2012

Excerpt from The Power of One by Leslie Temple-Thurston

There is a principle we have come to call the “power of one” effect ever since an experience we witnessed in 1994. That year, something I had always prayed for happened. Apartheid came to an end, and our understanding was that it was the power of the many, solidifying into one intention, that created the power of one. It is this effect of the power of one that I would like to outline here.

Blyde River Reflection

The awakening of peace consciousness is a major issue facing humanity right now. It has also become an issue dear to our hearts. As seekers after truth, we hope others will find themselves wanting to join the corps of believers who feel that this is the next frontier in our work as transformers of ourselves—and that by this recognition they will also be willing to put their hearts and minds into a commitment to hold a solid intention for change towards peace. The solidarity of intent is everything. It is the essence of the power of one.

As we begin to waken to our larger, universal selves, and as we clear and integrate more and more of our shadow in advanced Self-discovery, each one of us becomes conscious of being merged into a larger, more universal awareness—an awareness which is always present in this world—that of unity consciousness. This unity, which is also oneness of heart, holds a higher vibration and exists right through the field of the collective personality of humankind—even if usually unseen. Each one of us with a body and a personality living in the world, is an expression of that unity, whether we know it or not….

It is this principle of unifying mind, or of oneness, the many becoming of one mind, that I am calling the power of one.

Living From the Tree of Life

June 26th, 2012

Thinking inside/outside the BoxOur way of life is such that we have created a culture where we believe that we can’t survive without financial resources, a home and a lot of external things. Thus, these are difficult and dangerous times in which we are living. We are conditioned to believe our survival is dependent on these outer things, when our ability to thrive really depends on divine support. The true gold that facilitates survival arises from an inner connection to our unified, divine presence.

As spiritual seekers, you are required to meet the challenge of transitioning from dependence on outer forms of survival to inner reliance on the Divine. It is not easy to move out of your conditioning, for there is a mechanism embedded in the third-dimensional reality, which requires you to focus on the outside and avoid looking inside at all costs. In this system everything desirable is on the outside and you live not knowing yourself and the potential you carry within.

In third-dimensional consciousness, you live on a kind of automatic patterning that is habituated from your childhood programming—programming that you received when you entered your body. Life is largely unconscious, and you are simply living out your karma. Because the Truth exists on the inside, as long as you hold onto third-dimensional consciousness, you’re not allowed to see it. Your conditioned sense of survival feels a desperate need to remain focused on gaining possession of the outer gold and you remain cut off from your rich, inner resource. In this state of separation, you are dependent on something or someone to stay alive, and this dependency is highly misplaced.

True survival flows when you are able to allow your own Divine Self to support your life. You no longer look to another to get your needs met, for the true gold of the Divine is what will allow you to thrive. Inner reliance allows you to feel stable, supported, and at peace in life. Connected to Higher Self and aligned with oneness, you are supported even in the midst of seeming chaos. For in Truth, you are surrounded by unity and oneness.

When you move into your shushumna, the mysterious internal presence of non-dual consciousness that forms your body’s axis or center, the world is no longer what it once appeared to be. The shushumna is the Tree of Life that we see reflected in the trees around us. (note: Leslie gave this talk while surrounded by the Redwood trees.) It is easy to see the shushumna of a tree because trees are standing, living shushumnas. They bring the cosmic energy into the earth. They bring it down through their trunks and their roots and then move it into the deep, deep parts of the earth, energizing the earth like acupuncture needles. The trees are so graciously committed to this work, which is all about love. They aren’t fickle like us humans. They are steadfast. Every moment of a tree’s life is an unswerving, creative act of love, with no arrogance, no competitiveness.

Grove of Trees with Sunlight

The trees reflect the consciousness you experience when you enter your shushumna. It is time for you to drop the drama of being a slightly hysterical human and become like a tree… a very intelligent tree with mobility. You can wave your arms and legs and do things to help other people with them. But your inner reality is anchored in the Tree of Life… faithful, connected, serving. Everything else is vanity.

I want to address the speed with which we are currently moving through life. We are spinning very fast these days, and this speed is generated through the third-dimensional drive for survival. It is about getting things and about maintaining a life style that we have become much too attached to. Like the trees, we must ground into our center. All that is around us may be taken from us. It is important to recognize that this taking is likely to happen and not see it as a loss. You can adjust your thinking to see a stripping away as an up-grade.

The current speed of life generates a kind of insanity. You must slow down in order to enter the shushumna. Otherwise you’ll just be spinning around for the sake of survival—flying around your center but never entering it. It is time to slow down and remember to breathe—every time you realize you are in a spin, remember to breathe. Take time to enter your shushumna and know who you are in your Source. Go back to your origin again and again during the course of a day. Center yourself. Remember who you are, remember where you came from, remember where you’re going. There is really nowhere to go, except back to Source.

As you make it a practice to return to Source, your tremendous attachment to things will gradually recede. Your attachment to things has really been a form of entertainment you have used because you lost awareness of your inner reality. You were seduced into the attachments of third-dimensional reality, and in as much as you remain attached, you will suffer when things are swept away. There is no peace within your attachment to things. In fact, the loss of ability to live from your shushumna is rooted in your attachment.

You can have things, but the spiritual path requires that you not be attached to them. Things can disappear at any time and you are in a vulnerable position when you believe that your survival depends on them. Do an inventory of all the things that you believe your survival is dependent on. For each item on your list, ask yourself, “Do I really need this for my survival? Or am I just attached to it because it buffers my comfort zone? What would my life be like without the substance this item appears to give to me?” It helps to reflect on how each item on your list makes you feel…strong, important, special, needed, different from others, etc.

We have entered a time of a kind of insanity that requires you to be grounded in your Divine support. Anchored in your Tree of Life, you will not be drawn into the discombobulation of the insanity. Those who are not anchored will panic and forget the Truth. They will end up lost in the illusion—bound by attachment to what they think they need to survive.

So really look at how much you’re still driven by your ambition to be successful outside of your real Self. You may be driven out of vanity, the need to survive or the need to have—whatever drives your desire for success will be seen if you just choose to look. Most people do not choose to look. But based on your desire to advance in your evolution, you can free yourself from this outwardly focused drive.

We are on the threshold of the 12/21/2012 doorway into a new time. You want to be in as perfect a state of consciousness as you can be for this occasion. In addition to processing your consciousness, meditation is very important. By following these suggestions, you will find your life stabilizing quite significantly. Deepening your inner connection to Source, your internal alignment is strengthened so that you can release the outer dramas you have been embroiled in. Take in my words and make them your own. Act in your life accordingly.

The above is an excerpt from a talk given by Leslie Temple-Thurston at a student conference.
